On a recent 80 degree February Saturday (rough life, huh?), we decided to head up to Napa for some impromptu wine tasting. Our first stop was Luna Vineyards. Beautiful Tuscan style architecture and quiet tasting room. Ahh, that’s a great way to start the day. A friendly host poured some delicious wine and chatted with us. And we batted our eyelashes (okay, okay, that was just Chris) into an extra off-menu pour of their Chronicle Zinfandel. It was good, but definitely lighter than we expected for a Zin.
We ended up buying two bottles of their 2008 Sangiovese (probably what they’re best known for) and plan to save them for an upcoming dinner or party.
All in all, it was a solid experience. We may not rush back but we certainly weren’t disappointed.
